You can request information from the Department of Homeless Services (DHS) about a homeless family or single adult that may be receiving DHS services.

DHS is unable to confirm prior or current status of any individuals or families.

However, you can share your name and contact information with DHS, along with the following information for the individual or family you are seeking to contact:

  • Full Name
  • Date of Birth

If the individual or family is indeed in a shelter, DHS will pass along your message and contact information. The individual or family can choose whether to reach out to you.

Call 311 or 212-NEW-YORK (212-639-9675) for help.
