The New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) conducts fire hydrant flow tests to evaluate the capacity of the city's eater mains.
The results of these tests are used for designing and adjusting fire sprinkler systems to ensure they have a sufficient water supply.
Requests for Hydrant Flow Test are filed online through the Permit and Review Information System (PARIS).
