You can settle most charge disputes by contacting the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Customer Service Call Center.
If you are not satisfied with the decision of the Customer Service Call Center, you may file a written complaint to the Bureau of Customer Service. If you are not satisfied with that result, you can appeal to the Deputy Commissioner. If you are still not satisfied, you can make a final written appeal to the Executive Director of the New York City Water Board.
