As a mark of respect for the memory of the NYPD Officer, Didarul Islam, who died in the line of duty, and the victims of the shooting in midtown Manhattan at 345 Park Avenue, all flags shall continue to be flown at half-staff by order of the Mayor of the City of New York, Eric L. Adams. The flags were flown at half staff starting on July 29, 2025, and will return to full staff after the interment of all the victims.

A notice will follow to advise the date when all flags will resume full-staff positions. This includes all flags – the American flag, the New York State and City flags, and the POW-MIA flag – on all City buildings and stationary flagstaffs throughout the five boroughs.
