The Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) is warning businesses to be on the lookout for emails that appear to be complaint notifications. These fake emails are part of a phishing scam.

Don't open, respond to, or forward any emails claiming to be from DCWP that do not end with “dcwp.nyc.gov.” Delete them immediately.

You can report receiving a fake email to DCWP. You can also make your report online to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
