When there is an emergency, residential building owners must post temporary notices.
Notices must have emergency information and be posted in the common area of the building.
Examples of an emergency:
- Before a weather emergency
- After a natural disaster
- When a utility outage will last for more than 24 hours
The notice must state the emergency.
The notice should be updated as needed. When the emergency has ended, the notice can be removed.
The notice should also include:
- Contact information for building personnel
- Contact information to report utility outages
- A list of services available during utility outages
- Emergency evacuation information, if needed
