NYCHA Section 8 Waitlist for information about the NYCHA Section 8 Waitlist application

New York State Homes and Community Renewal (HCR) 2021 New York City Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waitlist is closed.

Please note that this waiting list only applies to vouchers from HCR. Applicants must apply separately for vouchers from other housing authorities, including NYCHA.

There is no estimated wait time for how long it will take for selected applicants to be offered an HCR voucher.

Wait times vary depending on a combination of factors, including:

Your place on the list
Established preferences
Your income
Voucher availability

When HCR reaches your position on the waiting list, you will be contacted to confirm whether you are still eligible for the program. You will be required to submit documentation at that time to verify your eligibility.

If you have a change in contact information, you must notify HCR by email or by mail. If HCR is unable to contact you once your number is reached on the waiting list, your name will be deleted from the list.
