If the check you receive is damaged, please send it to the mailing address below. Rather than send you a new check, DOF will add the reimbursement as a credit to your property tax account.

Lost or Misplaced Check
If you lose your check, contact DOF at nyc.gov/dofcustomerservice. Be sure to include your full name along with the address of the property.
Allow up to four weeks for DOF to review your claim and reissue a reimbursement as a credit to your property tax account.
Expired Check
Reimbursement checks are valid for 90 days. If you have a check that is more than 90 days old, do not attempt to deposit or cash the check.
Instead, you should contact DOF at nyc.gov/dofcustomerservice.
Provide DOF with your full name, borough, and address where your property is located, and the check number. Allow up to four weeks for DOF to review your claim.
